Heat pumps

A heat pump raises the temperature level at which a pre-existing quantity of heat becomes available.
Our heat pumps operate solely with natural fluids.

In partnership with Vilter by Copeland and Atlantic Compressors,
AIREDIF offers a range of industrial heat pumps operating with natural fluids.

The Single Screw technology from Vilter is the culmination of compression.

Thanks to the balance of forces on the main rotor and the significantly oversized bearings for the satellites, the compressors developed based on Single Screw technology are particularly well-suited to withstand high differential pressures. This results in significantly lower maintenance frequencies compared to other compressor technologies.

The Vilter Single Screw compressor is the foundation of a successful investment in the decarbonisation of heat supply.

 CO2

CO₂ enables compact, powerful, high-temperature heat pumps, ideal for heating a fluid with a large temperature difference.

NH3

Ammonia enables very efficient heat pumps, high temperatures, low load, reduced costs, and zero climate impact.

 H2O

In combination with our NH3 heat pumps, we offer the compression of water vapour.

NH3 : VQ95

from 550 kW to 7600 kW

hot water up to 95°C

We offer a standardised range of heat pumps that can deliver between 550 and 7680 kW of heat per unit.

The standardisation of the range reduces investment, installation, and commissioning costs.

The Single Screw technology reduces operating costs.

New : hot water up to 145°C !

Vilter continues to push the boundaries of Single Screw compressors.

A new range of heat pumps is emerging, capable of delivering hot water at 145°C.

Simplicity

The VQ95 simplifies the design, installation, and maintenance of industrial heat pumps. Equipped with the PLC Vission 20/20, it offers an intuitive interface. Single-stage units are straightforward, requiring few moving parts, and maintenance is easy thanks to convenient access. Vilter's online tool simplifies selection and configuration according to your needs.

Reliability

The VQ95 is a single-stage NH3 machine, designed to reduce costs and extend maintenance intervals, while ensuring the durability of your operations. Its Single Screw compressor guarantees reliable industrial performance, with fewer moving parts, which extends the life of the bearings.

Performance

The VQ95, with its innovative Vilter single screw technology, uses NH3 to deliver exceptional heating performance. Its metal-to-metal contactless design ensures lasting reliability, providing peace of mind to management teams.

Our selection software optimises the combinations of components to maximise the coefficient of performance (COP) and minimise operating costs.

With a high COP, the VQ95 often allows for the omission of complex systems, thereby reducing overall costs.

Flexibility

The VQ95 heat pumps stand out for their modular and scalable design, ensuring quick installation and simplified maintenance. Offering a turnkey system in a single chassis, they guarantee optimal performance without compromising on upkeep.

Available in two compact versions, the VQ95 supports over 2000 standard configurations, thus efficiently meeting the needs of applications with fewer units.

• High or low Delta-T (ΔT) option at the hot loop level,

• The system design allows for flexible source and discharge temperatures.

NH3 : VQ145

The VQ145 range, providing water up to 145°C, is now being launched as a preview.

CO2

A transcritical CO2 heat pump is ideal when there is a need for high-temperature hot water, particularly for domestic hot water (DHW) or industrial processes, using a fluid that is safe, sustainable, and regulatory compliant. Its strong point is the compatibility between the cooling curve of CO₂ and the heating of cold water, which maximises efficiency.

Environmental benefits

Natural refrigerant: CO₂ (R744) has a GWP = 1, making it almost neutral in terms of greenhouse effect compared to HFCs/HFOs.

Non-toxic, non-flammable (class A1 ASHRAE), therefore safer to handle than ammonia (NH₃) or hydrocarbons.

Regulatory compliance: not affected by the phased-out bans of the F-Gas in Europe.

Technical advantages

High water outlet temperature: a transcritical CO2 heat pump can produce hot water up to 90–100 °C, which is suitable for domestic hot water, the food industry, laundries, etc. Excellent efficiency for domestic hot water: thanks to the cooling profile in gas cooler mode, CO2 is particularly well-suited for applications where cold water is heated over a wide range (e.g. from 10 °C to 70 °C).

Thermofrigerating pump: the possibility of simultaneously producing heat (ECS/process) and cold (e.g. cold rooms, processes).

Economic advantages

Interesting efficiency for DHW: high COPs for the production of domestic hot water, often higher than other heat pumps when heating water to over 60 °C.

Fewer regulatory constraints (unlike NH₃ which is subject to the Seveso directive above certain thresholds, or HFCs which are subject to F-Gas quotas).

Long lifespan and easy maintenance: robust compressors, increasing availability of standardised components.
